Paris - Disneyland (Happy Birthday me!)

My blog tells me I haven't posted anything here since March - which sounds about right. This isn't the time to summarise my entire year, instead, I'm going to spend the next few weeks editing and writing and playing catch up for the remainder of my travels through Europe, and then, Japan. My trusty Macbook Pro of 5-6 years started to well... uh... died (this was in April, just after getting back from Japan). It was a Christmas gift from my dad when I was in high school and it had lasted me till *almost* the end of my degree.

But now, on my forth official day of holidays,  I've forced myself to stop doing work and to finally transfer all of my travel photos across to my old computer. Lets see if working from a 13" laptop to a 27" iMac makes a difference to my image quality (me thinks yes).

*This post was edited a few months ago, I just never got around to posting it!*

I was in Paris for roughly three weeks at the start of the year, and it just so happened that during those three weeks, it was my birthday. Back when I was living in England, I made reservations to stay a couple of nights at Disneyland!
Lets just say this, I didn't know I was a thrill seeker until then. Having three full days to explore the park, I can safely say I went on every single ride. I met Cinderella. It was the most surreal experience of my life. She asked if I was Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) in disguise. Got followed around by a tour bus driver asking if I needed help? Ah, no, go away.

On my actual birthday, I went down to the hotel restaurant as usual. A waiter, escorted me to a table overlooking Disneyland Bay - spectacular view! He asked why I was alone, which when you're traveling by yourself, is an uncomfortable question. I told him because that's just the way it worked out. I asked him if he could keep a secret, to which he said yes. I told him it was my birthday, he screamed and ran away. Great reaction. Half way through my meal, he comes back with a little wrapped up box. He apologised saying it was all he had. Inside was two Tinkerbell toys. My heart melted into puddle.
