Do I have news for you

A lot has happened in only a few short weeks! By far the most exciting news is probably the fact I was cast as the leading lady in the upcoming musical Cry Baby.
So I’m Alison!

When the director asked me if I was interested, I burst into tears. I’ve been in numerous performances before, but never a musical. So the fact I was offered the lead for my ever first musical, I was in shock. I called my list of 5 (whenever something major happens in my life, these are the people I must inform first; mum, dad, Maddy, Jordy & Skye).

After calming down from the initial excitement, I was hit with a hard case of reality. My vocal skills are extremely mediocre, so talk about throwing myself in the deep end. As more people found out about my role, the more started buying tickets, the more my stomach knotted. I have this habit of pushing my limits; instilled by my mother, whose words were “I only push you because I know you’re capable of more”. And each time she has been right. I just hope this is one of those times. 

These were my father’s words of wisdom, after coming down from the high.

I shall keep you all updated on rehearsals etc. But if someone could carry some of my nerves, that would be greatly appreciated!
