It's been too long

A little over two months actually.
Everything has just been so overwhelmingly busy; I haven’t had the time to sit down and write. But now, being on holidays for a week, I have the chance.
Right now I’m on a train speeding away from my dad (who actually left for Sydney yesterday), my older sister & her kitten Tobias. My first port of call was to their home in Toowoomba. Being overwhelmed with uni / work / rehearsals, I haven’t had the opportunity to visit them in over four months! Needless to say I was getting kitten withdrawals.

I’ve had my fix now –scratched up arms from playing with the crazy little boy need healing time.

But picking from where we left off – Cry Baby. Opening night was Friday 14th of September, and quite honestly, it’s now competing for my favourite time performing (currently in first position is A Midsummer Nights Dream – I was Helena). I did however miss my final curtain due to a semi wardrobe malfunction, but that was the only real dilemma of the evening.
The photographer didn’t really take any photos – only recordings. But here’s one of Willem – the male lead.

Overall it was such a great night - would do it all again in a heartbeat. With that said, I don’t think I’ll be auditioning for anything else soon, in the wise words of my mother “Elle, you need to learn to say ‘no’. Otherwise you won’t have anytime for yourself”. I’m learning.

Moving right along. I don’t want to ramble right now on about each & every detail of what’s been happening, so here are some dot points with some pictures included.
  ·      Went to Petero Civoniceva's last match for the Broncos (Believe it or not, I am a football fan, and yes, I do sometimes become obnoxious and scream at the players. It’s my hideously competitive side)

·      Because it was his last match, I was able to walk around on Suncorp Stadiums field (and not get fined $1000)!
·      Got a lecture from, and then met Kate Miller-Heidke (only Facebook was graced with that photo)
·      Had an interview / photo-shoot for North-West News Brisbane

·      Almost died at work – thanks iPhone 5

·      Finally started using my watercolours again

My next post should be just a general recap of my holidays at the start of next month, but if not, towards the end of October. Jordy & I are flying down to Sydney for a few days after I’ve finished uni this year. We’re both extremely excited because it will be our first little holiday together (excluding the times we went to Victoria on ski trips). My sister has oh so graciously lent me her camera to shoot the experience.

Because I won’t see her again before we head off, I’ve got the camera for the entire month! Super pleased that on top of being able to document our time in Sydney, I’m now able to take better quality photos for my 366 Grateful Project. At the end of this year / start of next, I’m going to attempt to upload the project in it’s entirety here, because currently it’s only being uploaded daily to Facebook. We’ll see.

That’s all for now.
xo

P.S Only 95 days until 2013!

  1. I'm so glad everything is going amazingly well for you Elle. I do have to agree though that your performance of Helena was really good. That play is definitely one of my favourite performances we ever did. Remember you are in my prayers. Love & Hugs. Kimberley
