You should never start with an apology, but I have to. I’m
sorry. I’ve been neglecting my blog because, well, real life has hit me like a
ton of bricks and I haven’t had the time to edit, let alone write! So today I
forced myself to the State Library to do just that – write & edit.
Oh Skye - my tree of wisdom. The amount of times I’ve called
you at the most ridiculous times just to get an opinion or some advice – each
time you’ve answered (perhaps because you’ve learnt if you don’t, you’ll get a
15 minute voice message). We compliment each other so well. And we know too
much about each other to stop being as close as we are.
I truly hope you enjoyed your birthday celebrations. Even
though the weather was against us on Tuesday, eating Indian and watching Once
Upon a Time in bed was near perfection in itself.
But lets talk about Saturday night. We rented an apartment
in The Valley for the night. When I arrived after work you peer pressured me
into a game of Kings (the WORST drinking game invented). Nothing like pulling
muscles in your legs from doing cartwheels – yes – it’s one of the rules – no –
I’m not a gymnast anymore.
Next stop was dinner. You made the most delicious burritos
I’ve ever had. Followed by a game of “Never Have I Ever”. Then it was onto
getting ready.
It was 11.45pm and time to go. First & last stop – The
Beat.
I’d never been (clubbing is definitely not my scene of
choice). But it was undoubtedly the best time I’ve had out.
5am & I was carrying Jessie home. I was up with her
until 7am. Showered. Slept. Woke up at 9am. Cleaned the apartment. Said my
goodbyes to the Seedy Sundayers (Skye, Jessie & Carly). Caught a train
home. Cooked breakfast for Jordy & her friend - they went out Saturday
night too, but stayed at my house. Cleaned the house after they left. Then collapsed.
