A couple of months ago I got an email
asking if I was interested in dressing at the Fashion Grad Shows in November. I
replied with as much enthusiasm I could muster and around a week later it was
confirmed that I secured a position.
I am writing this a day after the final
show. My muscles are aching, my fingers cut and nails ripped, my body black and
blue with bruises, and of course, a swollen
sense of satisfaction. Everything went perfectly.
Today reflects my many years of not
going to the gym or exercising regularly. Therefore I’m going to be relishing
the pain for the next week or so.
For those of you who don’t know, being a
dresser involves stripping the models, redressing them (head to toe!), checking
their collection is presented correctly, their hair is in place and make up
satisfactory – all in the time space of around 2-3 minutes each change. My
model Jessie had 10 changes.
Now these aren’t “normal” clothes, these
are the most complicated clip-zipping-tying pieces made out of unconventional
materials, for example, one of my changes was made completely out of natural
latex – hat and all.
But here's what it looked like behind the scenes.
This is probably one of my favourites
from the collections – take a guess why! (meow!)

For photos of the actual show, the only ones I can find thus far are
located here.
I've got so many exciting things to share within the next two months! The first happening in (hopefully) the next 48 hours! Stay tuned!
