Pre-Christmas Activities

Before we get started, lets make one thing clear - I am the Grinch. I don’t ever remember liking Christmas, even as a child. Hopefully this will be the year to change my negative connotations towards Christmas, guess we shall find out in 4 days! (Surreal, right?! Only 4 days until the day *most* people look forward to all year)

Now I’m going to completely contradict myself - I love the decorations and joy and love and the spirit that comes along with the season! (It’s just the actual day of Christmas itself I dislike)

But I thought I’d share some “Pre-Christmas” activities!
I spend a week down at my father’s house with my oldest sister and her kitty. During the week Maddy put up their tree, so Tobias and I thought we’d “help” – AKA play with tinsel and take photos.

Now don’t get confused, these photos now are of the tree I have in my home in Brisbane. I surprised my roommate and purchased ornaments and tinsel in his favourite colour (blue).  So we have an aqua / turquoise / blue / silver theme this year! It was also a form of compensation; he wasn’t allowed to help decorate. I wanted a coordinated tree, and boys will be boys.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but the two people nearest and dearest to my heart live at the Sunshine Coast. Now this sucks for me. Don’t get me wrong; I have made amazing friendships with the people of Brisbane. But they aren’t the ones I can call in the middle of the night sobbing because my favourite character died in a book and will come over just because I ask them to. So this year has been hard in that respect –being thrown in the deep end with no lifeguards. Getting back on topic ~ Skye called me one morning complaining how her weekend keep getting worse, so it seemed obvious that she should come spend the remainder with me. It just so happened that Maddy and her partner James were coming to visit. We all ended up going to a “Kustom Krafts Brisbane Christmas Retro & Vintage Market”.

Then to one of my favourite café’s for lunch!

Next stop was The Valley.  We went to an Oscar Theatre carols night at Lightspace! If you live in Brisbane / surrounding areas, I cannot speak more highly of an Oscar production! For information about upcoming events, their website can be found here or facebook here. My only footnote about attendance, I wouldn’t recommend it for little ones (15 years and under) or the faint of heart – their case members are always ridiculously attractive talented!

Well I hope you have a beautiful Christmas. Stay safe, drink responsibly, be joyous and all that jazz!

X

~Apologises: I edited these photos at 2am with my macbook pro screen lighting down low, so when I looked at these this morning I realized they’re all quite bright!~
