Christmas at the floating city, what a way
to spend the day! However like most things, there were certainly pros and cons
to it. Because it was Christmas, the island was basically dead – giving us free
roam without the usual crowds. But next to nothing was open, so finding places
to eat / shop were few and far between. I can absolutely see the appeal in
visiting Venice. The canals are spectacular (there is no way you can go to
Venice without a gondola ride), getting lost in all the alleyways is great, and
not to mention St. Mark’s Square. But because of Italy’s currently poor
economy, heaps of landmarks are completely cover in advertisements and it’s
definitely a scammer’s hotspot. Just be careful.
